The Greeting Farm Blog Hop and Digi Blog Candy

Scroll down for the Some Odd Girl Blog Hop.

Welcome to JLJ Designs stop on The Greeting Farm Hoppin' Into the Holidays. I hope you'll read to the end as I have a little digi blog candy on offer! If you get lost, head to The Greeting Farm for directions.

This is my card for the "Santa, Baby" Challenge. I used Cupcake Anya to make a little tent to leave with Peanut's treats for Santa. I colored the image using Copics and added red glitter to her headband and belt. I used digi papers from my Traditional Christmas paper pack. The stickers are from Creative Memories and have been in my stash for a long time.
I'd like to enter this table tent in the following challenges:
1. Cute Card Thursday #140 - Blast from the Past - I used challenge #116 - anything but square
2. Winter Wonderland - shape up - I don't know if this counts, but with the two shapes together, it's not square : )
3. Polkadoodles #47 - Twas the Night Before Christmas - "In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there."

This is my card for "Let It Snow." I thought Ivy Xmas Tree was perfect for this challenge since the snow is built in! I used digi papers from my Traditional Christmas paper pack and silver doilies from Wilton. I added Jolee snowflake stickers and a Papercraft Inspirations freebie sticker for the greeting.
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
2. Delicious Doodles #2 - Celebrations
3. ABC Challenge - I for Ice and Snow
4. Simon Says Challenge - Let it Snow

Finally, I have my card for "Holiday Treats." I used Candy Cane Snack. Again, I used digi papers from my Traditional Christmas paper pack. I added stickers from Jolee - it was a Christmas candy set.
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
2. Sew Many Challenges #34 - red and green
3. Ellephantastic #20 - red and green

Would you like to win my Traditional Christmas Paper Pack?
Just leave your link below. I'll pick a winner on December 4th.

Some Odd Girl Hol-ODD-day Blog Hop

Welcome to the first Some Odd Girl Hol-Odd-day Blog Hop! We're having this hop to not only show some love for all our Oddies this holiday season but to have a hop that includes them! So take a hope through our list and make sure to leave comments at every stop because the Odd Girls have some prizes to give away to celebrate, but you have to complete the list to be entered.

We started at the Some Odd Girl Blog and are ending up at Kristy's Blog, and I am SURE along the way you'll see some amazing projects! You should have arrived from Robyn Mc's blog, if not start at the beginning to complete the hop.

Here's a list of the hoppers in case you get lost:
Jennifer - you are here

I've made two cards for the hop. I used Cold Kaylee for this card. The sentiment says "Warm wishes for your birthday." The papers are from my Snow Fun Paper Pack. I added Prima flowers, glitter buttons, and purple organza ribbon to finish the card.
I'd like to enter this card in the Create 4 Fun Challenge #48 - sketch.

My second card features Baker Kaylee. I used the same sketch as I used for my other card. The papers are from my Snow Fun Paper Pack. The sentiment is a freebie sticker from Papercraft Inspirations - "Have a Magical Christmas."

1. Bah! Humbug! #46 - feeling the blues
2. 7 Kids College Fund Challenge #9 - non-traditional Christmas colors

TLL Digi Paper Challenge #2

It's time for a Digi Paper Challenge #2 - Candy Cane at The Latte Lounge. You'll receive one of the digi papers from my Candy Cane paper pack for free. You use that digi paper or one from your stash to make a project. Post the project to the challenge thread for an entry to win BOTH the paper pack AND two images from The Stamping Boutique.

The theme for this challenge is Candy Cane - red and white. The challenge is open until Dec. 12th and the winner will be announced on the 13th.
My first card uses Candy Land Winter Cake from The Stamping Boutique. I colored the image using Copics and tried out my new Martha Stewart punch. I've never punched anything before. This card would also be perfect for Rhonda's Die Cuts or Punches Challenge. I added some sparkly yellow foam stars from my stash.
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Crafts 4 Eternity #61 - sketch + stars
2. Crafty Creations #95 - Christmas is Coming

This card uses Candy Cane Callie and Candy Cane Bunny from JLJ Designs. I used a tutorial for a Diagonal Double Pocket Card. In order to make this card, I taped two pieces of printed paper together, but you could just as easily print on both sides. I colored the images using Copics. The bunny tag will be used to write a holiday message. I'll put a gift card in the middle pocket.
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. One Stop Crafts Challenge #108 - Christmas cuties
2. Allsorts Challenge #80 - monochrome

This card features the tree from Stacie's Wacky Wednesday Challenge. I used the Candy Cane digi paper to trim the tree! The other papers are from my Traditional Christmas paper pack.

Hope to see you at The Latte Lounge this week! Don't forget our Christmas Celebration next weekend!

Happy Crafting!

Christmas Lists

I found these cute notepads at Michael's and thought they would be perfect to make little gifts out of. I'd seen a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers where they used a mini-legal notepad. I modified the idea to fit the square notepads that I bought.

I used Lil Lolita Christmas Evie colored with Copics. The papers are from My Mind's Eye and I added a snowflake sticker from Jolee. I thought this would make a cute gift for someone.

I'd like to enter this project in the following challenges:
1. Lil Lolita Boutique Challenges - the last one :( - sketch
2. C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #78 - Christmas present
3. Charisma Cardz #47 - one for the girls
4. Creative Inspirations #48 - Christmas gifts

If you get the same notepads, here are my directions. I removed the magnet from the back of the notepad - it wasn't very stuck on. The cardstock cover is 5 1/2" x 11 1/2". I scored a fold line at 5 1/2" and 6". I adhered the notepad to the cardstock using Terrifically Tacky Tape. Then I decorated the front.

There's a lot going on this week. I'll be announcing a new Latte Lounge Challenge tomorrow. Tuesday is the last day for my blog candy (it's not too late to enter), the Some Odd Girl Blog Hop, The Greeting Farm blog hop, AND a new freebie challenge at I Did It Creations Forum! Friday is the start of the Christmas Celebration at The Latte Lounge.

Happy Crafting!

I colored the images with Copics and added flowers and sticker sentiments.

Crafting Again!

I'm back home and back in the craft room again. Yeah! While I was gone, my package from Outlaw Women Scrapbook Emporium arrived - containing Copics and Stickles.

Before I get started with my card, I'd like to remind you about my blog candy and DT call. See the links on the left.

I used this cute stamp from The Greeting Farm. She's not a Christmas image, but I think colored this way - with Copics - she could be. I added Stickles to her outfit for extra glitter. The papers are from my stash and the flowers are Prima.

TLL Hidden Element Challenge

Have you heard about the Christmas celebration Dec. 3-5 at The Latte Lounge? Rhonda will be hosting a fun filled time. Stop by now to sign up for Secret Santa.

I want to say congrats to Maria for winning my digi paper challenge. I'll have another digi paper challenge for you in two weeks.

My new challenge starts today at The Latte Lounge. For the next two weeks, I'm sponsoring a Hidden Element challenge. Your card should have a hidden element - tag that slides out, something that flips open.

DH has been wanting me to make a lift-the-flap card similar to Peanut's books. So, I gave it my best shot.

My first card uses the Matroyshka Dolls from The Stamping Boutique. My sister colored most of the dolls. I cut them out leaving a tab at the top and then glued two of the same size doll together. I cut out a slightly smaller hole in my paper underneath the doll. I then glued the tab to the underside of the paper and constructed the card in layers. The bottom doll is still glued to the front of the card.

For my second card, I used JLJ Designs (aka me) Beary Merry Christmas Dreams and Beary Merry Christmas Morning. I used the same technique of leaving a little flap, this time on the side of the image. For this card, I actually cut a hole in the card and the paper that I used to cover the front. I stuck the tab between the paper and the card. The second image is mounted inside the card. I added a string of beads and red roses.
There are other great challenges to check out as well:
You have a few more days to enter Rhonda's Thanksgiving challenge.
Stacie has challenged us to use real money on our cards. She's got a great one with a hidden bill, which would qualify for both our challenges!

I hope to see you at the Hidden Element challenge at The Latte Lounge.

DT Call

I'll be away from my computer for a few days, so this post will stay for a while. Also, it may take a few days for me to get back to you. While I'm gone, don't forget my blog candy!

Well, I've come to the realization that I can't make cards and projects with all my images all by myself. Also, I've loved seeing the creative projects that come from others. So, I'd like to have a DT call.

I'm looking for 3-4 people who'd be interested in using my images and digi papers for projects. My store can be found at:http://stitchybearstamps.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_103

You would be able to request images and papers that you'd like to use. You'd have access to new releases in advance. I'd like you to post one project using a JLJ Designs product every week. If it's a week that I'm sponsoring a challenge, I'd like you to mention it in your post and possibly make a project for the challenge - you'd know about these as much in advance as I know. If we're not sponsoring, the project choice is totally at your discretion.

We'd start with a three month commitment and see how it goes. This is my first DT call after all.

If you're interested, please email me at jljdesigns at cox dot net.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenge:

The winner of the challenge will receive the whole paper pack and two images from The Stamping Boutique. The challenge ends on Nov. 14th and the winner will be announced on the 15th.

I have two new cards for your inspiration. This card features AJ the Pilgrim from The Stamping Boutique. All of the papers are from the Thanksgiving Paper Pack. I added some sentiments I printed out and Prima flowers.

My second card features my Sugarplum Fairy Bear. I wanted to make a card using the Thanksgiving Paper Pack that wasn't for fall. I'd like to enter this card in the Teddy Stampers Birthday Challenge and Lollipop Crafts #15 - birthdays.

Crafting for the Week

It just dawned on me that I needed to do all my crafting for the week today as I'll be on vacation starting on Wednesday. So, I made a few cards. I probably won't be posting much toward the end of the week.

I'd love it if you checked out the challenges at The Latte Lounge and I Did It Creations Forum. You can have a second and third entry into my blog candy for participating in a challenge in each!

Now, for the cards. My first card is a Thanksgiving card. The little turkey on the front is this month's freebie from Some Odd Girl. There's something about this turkey that makes me smile. The papers are all from DCWV. I used the same layout on the inside of the card for the Happy Thanksgiving sentiment. This card is perfect for Rhonda's Thanksgiving Challenge at The Latte Lounge.
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
4. Crafty Emma's Challenge #11 - forever autumn

My second card is actually cards. I used freebie images from Cardmaking and Papercraft. My sister colored these and I added some glitter to them.
Here's a close-up of one of the cards. The sentiments use fonts from Free Scrapbook Fonts. I got the idea for the sentiment from the same issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft. The papers are from DCWV and Cardmaking and Papercraft.
I'd like to enter these cards in the following challenges:
2. Party Time Tuesday #19 - anything goes birthday
3. Anything Goes #23 - "B" - is for Birthday?
4. Crafty Creations #92 - fables and fairy tales
5. Wee Memories #30 - birthday bash

Happy Crafting!

Still Cold!

Well, still no heat, but I have the space heater in the craft room and it's bearable. Peanut and DH are out for the day so I don't have to share!

I got this cute freebie from Pollycraft last week. My sister colored it using my markers - she loves the coloring, not so into the cardmaking. The papers were downloaded from Cardmaking and Papercraft. I added a sentiment and some lime and blue flowers. I really like the color palette.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Pollycraft Monday Challenge #68 - It's chill time
2. Pixie Dust Studio Challenge #47 - pretty colors - blue, pink, lime green
3. Charisma Cardz Challenge #44 - with love at Christmas
4. Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenge - seasonal project

November Blog Candy!

I've discovered that I love giving away blog candy. I like shopping for it and I like brightening someone's day with something fun in the mail.

This month I have a fall blog candy - there's papers, ribbons, brads, flowers and stamps. So, what do you need to do to enter you may ask:
1. You get one entry just because I like you. If you'd like to become a follower or post this candy on your blog, I'd be greatly appreciative.
2. You can get one additional entry for participating in a challenge at The Latte Lounge this month (just put TLL after your name).
3. You can get one additional entry for participating in a freebie challenge at I Did It Creations Forum (just put IDIC after your name).
4. You can get one additional entry for creating a project using a JLJ Designs image or paper and posting it on your blog (just put JLJ after your name and link to your blog post).

That's a total of four possible entries! The blog candy will close on Nov. 30th and the winner will be announced Dec. 1st.

Christmas Cards and more Christmas Cards

I have three sets of Christmas cards to share today. I hope you'll sit back, relax, and read on. You have until this afternoon to enter my blog candy.

Fun news - My card won the October challenge at Lothian Crafts! I won a blog hop candy over at Club Anya, so new stamps are coming my way.

Stacie is sponsoring the first Wacky Wednesday challenge at The Latte Lounge. The challenge is to use real wood on your card. So, I sent Peanut out to look for some little twigs. I used them as a frame at the top and bottom of my picture. The paper is all Basic Grey. I bought a century pack and have been having a grand time! This is a Christmas card for my brother-in-law. Another in the gift card holder series.
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Basic Grey Challenge #32 - sketch by Heather
3. Ellephantastic #18 - blue - I tried to use some really bright blues, a little unusual for a Christmas card.

So, the freebie I got with Cardmaking and Papercraft this month were these sweet Adam Prescott bear stamps. It's not the freebie that the magazine said it would come with, but I'm more than happy! I have had these embossed cards in my stash for a while. I thought they'd be great for some clean and simple Christmas cards. I colored the teddy bear with Copics and added glitter glue to her hat and some of the embossed dots. I finished the card with a Prima flower.
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Fab 'n Funky #46 - clean and simple
2. Lollipop Crafts #14 - embossing

I had several of these embossed heart cards from the same box. I decided to make several of the same card. The sentiment reads "with love at Christmas." I colored the image with Copics and added iridescent glitter to some of the hearts and the bears' hats.
I'd like to enter these cards in the following challenges:
