The Latte Lounge July Challenge Week 4

It's the last week for July's progressive challenge at The Latte Lounge. So far, this month we've had Christmas cards with die cuts and snow. The addition this week is non-traditional color.

I used The Stamping Boutique's apron journal digi stamp to create a background paper and the sentiment. The sweet girl is Ellie Loves to Bake by Your Next Stamp. I decorated the embossed tree with cooking die cuts that were a freebie in Cardmaking and Papercraft this month. I interpreted snow a little freely on this card and added pink snow glitter to the tree. The ribbon is bright pink seam binding available at JLJ Designs.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Your Next Stamp #47 - 3 embellies (I used ribbon, rhinestones, and chipboard), 2 designer papers (I used the apron paper and pink plaid), 1 image
3. ABC Christmas - O is for Older Image - I dug Ellie out of my stamp drawer for this card.
4. Polkadoodles #29 - Christmas in July

My Heart Journal

I've seen art journals around blog land and was intrigued. When The Greeting Farm announced their Heart Journaling project, I thought it would be fun to participate. I got a small sketch book at Michael's and got started. Here's the cover:
I used Modge Podge to glue old photos from a trip to Japan and some scrap papers to the front. I added some small embellishments that were on my craft table. I added a sentiment "chase your dreams" and LOTS of glitter.

I added a bookmark to the journal using the leftover baker's twine I colored for my MIC project. I added beads and a heart charm to the bottom.

The first week of the Heart Journal project is Spread Your Wings:
I used the page to write down my thoughts on why I wanted to do an art journal. I used red and purple acyrlic paint and distress inks to create the background. Then I attached papers and elements to decorate. I used Sonny Honeycloud Butterflies from Pollycraft. Of course, I added lots of glitter : )

I'd like to enter this project in the following challenges:
1. Craft Us Crazy #13 - anything goes
2. Allsorts #113 - free and easy

Make It Colourful - Color Your Embellies!

This week at Make it Colourful the challenge is to color your embellishments. Our sponsor this week is Make It Crafty - yippee!

I used this tutorial to make my own baker's twine using Copics and cotton thread. I used the twine around the outside of a frame and as the holder for this tray. I painted the tray with acrylic paints. The image is Zoe Celebrates from Make It Crafty; she's printed on Make It Colour paper and colored with Copics (BG11,BG13, BG15, Y11, Y13, Y15, E00, E01, E11, E13, E17, E19). I used two different lasercut chipboard sets - Filigree Jewels and Dragonflies, which I painted with aqua glitter glue. The sentiment says "always carry a little sunshine in your pocket." I thought this bright wall hanging might be good for my office.
I'd like to enter this project in the following challenges:
3. Stamp Something - favorite embellishments - my favorite embellishments are lasercut chipboard covered in glitter glue
4. Papercutz #101 - anything goes

@ The Latte Lounge

There's always lots going on at The Latte Lounge. The July Kids Challenge is Dreaming of a Sunny Day. Peanut was dreaming of spending time with her friend Little D and wanted to make a card for him. As her favorite colors are dark red and dark blue, she chose a dark red card and decorated it with red and blue embellies. She loves the glitter and she really wanted to have a heart on the card.

It's time for a new addition to the July Monthly Challenge - this week it's Christmas + die cut + snow. I used Chubby Snowman from The Stamping Boutique. I practiced pleats and folds a little more on his scarf : ) I used a die cut from a Cardmaking and Papercraft freebie last Christmas. The papers are all from my Traditional Christmas paper pack.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
2. CES Challenge #45 - Christmas

Funky Hair

Better late, than never! I didn't get my card ready in time for the challenge post colouring hair (not normal colors) at Make It Crafty, but I really wanted to try it. It's not too late for you either! We're sponsored this week by Quixotic Paperie, your source for MIC products in the UK and Europe.

I had merged several images for the Steampunk release last week, which I didn't use, and I thought one of those would be perfect. I used Mermaid Miranda from Tiddly Inks and Maritime Abode from Make It Crafty. Of course, I printed them on Make It Colour paper. I used JLJ Designs craft pins and paper and flowers from my stash.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
2. Lollipop Crafts - anything goes
3. Crafty Calendar - Under the Sea
4. Simon Says - anything goes
5. Allsorts #112 - free and easy

Summertime, Summertime!

We came home to LOTS of rain. This is good because we were in a drought, but bad because we really need to get out of the house. So, how about a bright, sunshiny card for today.

I used Sonny Honeycloud - Life's a Beach from Pollycraft. I printed her on Make It Colour paper and colored her with Copics. The paper is from DCWV citrus stack. I added bunches of orange embellies from my stash. Definitely a way to brighten today!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Pollycraft Monday #101 - the great outdoors
2. Card and a Half #3 - sketch
4. Crafts and Me #43 - summertime
5. Polkadoodles #28 - long, hot summer

I'm back!

We've been on vacation for the last week. A whirl wind tour of the eastern seaboard - 2600 driving miles - with a stop at my mom's for her birthday, Sesame Place for Peanut, and a horse lesson for my sister. Along the way, we discovered that nail polish on her fingers stops Peanut sucking her thumb, which the dentist will like!

I haven't had much card making time recently, but I've rediscovered digital scrapbooking. I've been slowly working my way through our 2010 photos. I thought I'd share a layout I did today using my Pretty Tough kit, which is on sale this month! The font is "A Red Bucket" from fonts for peas.

The Latte Lounge July Challenge

I'm late with this post and I haven't been around much. I've been bee-bopping around this summer and I've been behind on my blog posts. I missed the first week of The Latte Lounge Christmas in July challenge, but I'm making it up this week.

The progressive part of the challenge for this week is to add die cuts or punches. I bought these Spellbinders snowflakes in the after Christmas sale last year and I hadn't used them yet.

This card features Mail Girl from The Stamping Boutique. I printed her on Make it Colour paper from Make it Crafty. I used irridescent glitter glue for the snow, silver glitter glue for the trim, and blue glitter glue for the frame.

Make It Colourful - Pleats and Folds

This week at Make it Colourful the challenge is pleats and folds. I've been in awe of Zoe's amazing pleats since I first found her blog. I decided to really work on my pleats for this challenge and I was lucky to have the tutoring of the MIC team - thanks ladies!

I used Make It Crafty's Whimsical Log. I focused on the pleats on Tilda as Butterfly and Mini Dragonfly Tilda fit perfectly on the Whimsical Log. The card has a cutout in the front and the log and mini Tilda are on the inside. I glittered the Fine Swirls Lasercut Chipboard from Make It Crafty.

Tickled Pink DT Call

Tickled Pink Stamps is having a Pink Lady call and I had to at least try for spot. I love the Little Lolitas and Lads and would love to have a chance at being on this fabulous DT.

I created a journal for the DT call featuring Kellita - one of my favorites. I colored her with Copics (R85, R83, R81, G82, G40, E53, E50, E11, E01, E00). The sentiment is from the Pink Victorian Steampunk Sentiments. I matted the sentiment and image with kraft paper to match the lasercut chipboard Filigree Jewels from Make it Crafty. I painted the chipboard and kraft paper with light pink glitter glue. I added some rhinestones, ribbon, and flowers to finish the journal.

I'd like to enter this journal in the following challenges:
2. Sketch and Stash #65 - sketch. I used the sentiment stamps and chipboard which had been languishing in my craft drawer since I got them.
3. Paperplay #26 - anything but a card

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July! I was inspired to make a red, white, and blue card. I've been working on pleats in Tilda's dress, so I thought this sweet image would be a great one to continue my practice on. I think I'm starting to get there : )

I stamped Tilda on Make It Colour paper. It's so nice to be able to color red and not have it bleed from where I'm coloring. The papers are all from JLJ Designs Stars and Stripes digital paper pack. The chipboard is Make It Crafty Fine Swirls. I painted them with white acrylic paint and then red and blue glitter glue.

The sentiment says "Fireworks light up the sky...What a beautiful array...Everyone oohs and ahhs...On this special day."

Copic recipe:
Dress R27, R24, R22
Bow, Balloon, Shoes B28, B26, B24
Hair E53, E50
Skin E11, E01, E00

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
