Chocolate Challenge at The Hybrid Chick Card Caravan

We're having a chocolate challenge at The Hybrid Chick Card Caravan.  Anything that chocolate makes you think of is fair game.  I searched the Valentine's Kits at the Digichick and I found Love in the Park by eNKay Designs.  The digistamp is Fancy by Saturated Canary.  I colored her with Copics using the colors from the kit.

Busy Weekend

I went to a craft show today hoping that some of the over 300 cards in my closet would find a new home.  I didn't sell very much, though.  Here's my booth.

So, when I got home, I boxed up a bunch of cards and sent them to Send a Smile for Kids.  I see a lot more card donating in my future!

I have a cute little spook to share with you today.  I combined mini Frankenstein from Make It Crafty with Halloween Sentiments from Arty Pants to make this clean and simple card.

Here's my color cheat sheet in case you feel like making someone green this weekend.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Digital Tuesday #183 - Halloween/spooky
2. Tuesday Throwdown #121 - Halloween
3. Top Tip #88 - Halloween
4. The Paper Shelter #87 - Halloween
5. Cute Card Thursday #240 - something scary
6. Crafts 4 Eternity #95 - ghouls, ghosts and, goblins
7. One Stop #202 - Halloween

Allsorts Design Team Call

Allsorts is having a Design Team call.  They are a great challenge and the design team is fantastic.  I'd love to be a member.  To apply to the design team, they've asked that you write a blog post and include three cards that you've entered in the Allsorts challenge.  Here are my three cards.  They're linked back to the original blog post.

As readers of my blog know, I'm a working mom with a 5 year old daughter, Peanut.  We love to craft together.

Coloring White

Hi all!  It's my day to post on the Make It Crafty blog.  Do you struggle with coloring white?  I know I do.  Sometimes I just want to leave it uncolored, but then it doesn't have any depth.  Christmas is coming, and you know what that means - snow, Santa's beard and fur trim....you're right, more coloring white!  I thought the Jolly Santa would be perfect for practice.  The coloring areas are nice and large, so you can get a running jump at coloring white. Here's my image colored with my cheat sheet.  I like the creamy color for his hair and the blue-ish tones for the fur trim.  I used tiny flicks for the fur trim to try to keep the texture.

You know I had to finish off the big guy with some flowers and glitter so here's my finished card:

Supplies
Copics

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. ABC Christmas - U is for Up to You
2. Willow Sketchie - Christmas in October
3. Stampin' for the Weekend #20 - anything goes
4. Fussy and Fancy #74 - anything goes

Cat's Garden Quilt?

I've been posting crafty items to Yardsellr as I clean out my craft room, including mini Magnolia stamps, quilt patterns/kits, and sewing notions.  The pattern for the quilt I started below is for sale.  Yardsellr requires a tracking number so the shipping can be high.  If you're interested in one of these items, please email me and we can work out a private purchase with reduced shipping.  First come, first served.

I started My Cat's Garden by Maggie Walker with grand plans, before I realized that I really don't like hand applique :-)  I finished two blocks and started a third over the course of seven years or so.  I haven't touched it in over five years.  I'm cleaning up the crafting room this weekend, and I realized that  I am NEVER going to finish this quilt.  So, I sewed the two finished blocks into pillows for Peanut.  She's delighted and is playing with her quilt and pillows.  Here are the two pillows I made:

Love hand applique?  Want the patterns for yourself?  Check out My Yardsale.

Nefret's Garden Quilt

I've been posting crafty items to Yardsellr as I clean out my craft room, including mini Magnolia stamps, quilt patterns/kits, and sewing notions.  Yardsellr requires a tracking number so the shipping can be high.  If you're interested in one of these items, please email me and we can work out a private purchase with reduced shipping.  First come, first served.

I haven't been near my sewing machine much recently.  I finished this quilt (other than the binding) before Peanut was born.  I had it machined quilted.  I finally finished the binding on Saturday.  I call it Nefret's Garden after my little black cat.  The flower blocks were a block of the month.  The cats are from a book, but I did them so long ago, I don't know what book it was.

Here's a close up of my favorite cat.

I really needed to start on my Christmas cards months ago, but I'm finally getting started now.  I've started now, though.  I had Sunny Tia by Some Odd Girl colored from my coloring class.  She's not a Christmas digi, but I thought these colors would be perfect for Christmas.  I love the little banner sentiments, too!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Some Odd Girl - sketch challenge
2. One Stop Craft #201 - anything goes

The Hybrid Chick Card Caravan - fall

We're falling into the season at The Hybrid Chick Card Caravan this fortnight.  I was so inspired by Wishing Well Creations new bundle - Pumpkin Patch - that I made two cards.  One a little darker and one a little brighter, but both very cute.  I layered the papers digitally using Stacks by Girl Boy Girl Designs and added Halloween Sentiments Digital Stamps by Arty Pants Digital Stamps.

For my first card, I used Trick-or-Treat by Saturated Canary.  I couldn't find it in the shop, but she's super cute.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Allsorts #176 - too cute to spook
2. Aud Sentiments #65 - Halloween

For my second card, I used a new release from Tiddly Inks - Witchy Wren.

I printed out the same topper for the inside of the card and added a sentiment.  Digital papers make it so easy to make 2!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Tiddly Inks #95 - fall
2. Crafty Calendar - all things spooky
3. Card Makin' Mamas - Halloween/spooky
4. DRS Designs #46 - witches

Challenge 182 sponsored by DRS Designs

You still have a week to enter the Design Team Call at Cupcake Inspirations.  Click on the image below to get all the details.

We're space-y at Cupcake Inspirations.  We're sponsored this week by DRS Designs.  Here's our inspiration cupcake (click picture for link to source).

Here's my card featuring Spaceboy Skip and Out of This World Birthday sentiment from DRS Designs.  They were so cute, I made my card really simply.  I managed to use up all my C5 coloring the background.  It ran out just as I got to the last bit, so there was no ink for touch ups!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. 2 Sisters #113 - anything goes
2. Art Impressions #84 - child's birthday
3. Craft Us Crazy #28 - children
4. Paper Crafting Journey - add some bling

Created from Color Basic Class

So, I haven't been around much recently. I've been traveling a lot for work - I think I'm home for a while now.  In my limited crafty time, I've been working on my coloring.  I took the Created from Color Basic Class.  Today, I'm going to share some of my class projects.  Kristy and Melissa have sign-ups for a new basic class.  I'd encourage you to take it if you're looking to improve your coloring skills.
For the class, our first assignment was to color an image.  The last assignment was to color the same image.  Here are my first (left) and last (right):

We had an assignment to work on pleats.  I ended up doing this one several times.  I used the feedback I got from Kristy and Melissa on the left image to color the image on the right.

I love coloring with red.  The red lessons were my favorite and I think my coloring has improved. I dream of someday doing pleats like Zoe and Delphine.  I'm not there yet, but I'm getting better.

The last images I'm going to share - pets.  I love the tips Melissa and Kristy taught for getting texture on animals.
